At Filtronic I shadowed and assisted existing team members working on a diverse range of projects. I learnt quickly and took a considered approached when I was faced with unknown areas. For the first time, I got a hands on experience supporting tickets on a global help desk, as well as general day to day tasks.
The biggest part of the job was simply to be there to help the customers - perhaps taking them to a product they can't find, or explaining how they can get the best from a special offer. As a customer assistant, I directed customers and assisted in product location. I supported the warehouse staff with deliveries, filled promotion ends and merchandising units, and regularly moved to departments where I was needed such as the checkouts.
